(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The largest sober event in Colorado Springs, the Sober Soiree, returned on Saturday, Sept. 14, drawing hundreds of attendees for an alcohol-free evening of entertainment and culinary delights.
The event featured top local chefs and mixologists who provided a vibrant atmosphere without alcohol, and was emceed by FOX21’s News Director Joe Cole.
Chef Brother Luck, a James Beard nominee and advocate for mental health awareness, collaborated with Homeward Pikes Peak to create this unique celebration, which continues to grow annually.
The event raised money for Homeward Pikes Peak, a non-profit organization. Homeward Pikes Peak works with individuals who are homeless, as well as veterans and families suffering from addiction or mental health issues. They provide housing, case management, and clinical services to support recovery and a better future.
“So when we first conceived of this idea, I went to Chef Brother Luck because he was so open with his story of homelessness and as a youth and his drive to help raise awareness around mental health,” said Beth Roalstad, Chief Executive Officer of Homeward Pikes Peak. “He has helped open doors for us in this community and get other chefs on board. So he’s really a real friend of the organization over the last three years.”
