(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A new facility is opening on Monday, Nov. 3, to help men break free of homelessness and addiction.
Step Springs is a residential recovery program designed to help break the cycles of homelessness and addiction through a structured approach built on four guiding principles: sobriety, work, accountability, and community.
“Every phase has set goals that have to be met in order to move to the next progression, and each progression comes a better, improved quality of life,” said Megan Shay, Executive Director, Step Springs & Step Denver. “So you’re moving from the dorm setting to the private room, then you’re moving into more of an apartment-style living environment. So you have these privileges and rewards that come with your effort and progress as you hit those milestones.”
The program is based on Step Denver’s 42-year program and is projected to serve more than 160 men in its first year of operation.
