(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Monday, Hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the life of 17-year-old Daniel Giffin.
Daniel passed away just before his 18th birthday after losing a battle to an incurable brain tumor.
Torie Giffin, Daniel’s Mother, said, “I feel like I got a gift in having him…not that I lost something, but I really gained something. I got to have this beautiful boy in my life that was just like a love bomb.”
In his 17 short years of life, Daniel not only brought smiles to everyone he met, he also conquered life to the fullest, riding a unicycle up Pikes Peak.
When he was diagnosed with the brain tumor, his view on life did not change. He biked across the State of Iowa with his mom, gaining supporters along the way.
“People cheering, like getting a hometown hero’s welcome in a state that, you know, he’s never lived in.” Daniel’s mom recounted.
At the Remembrance of Life, they sang, cried, hugged, and laughed, making the best of the somber event just like Daniel would have done.
