(PUEBLO, Colo.) — In a push to grow the amateur boxing scene in Pueblo, several local businesses came together on Saturday, June 29, to host a car wash fundraiser.
Organizers are rallying support for youth sports across the city, with a spotlight on the Aztecs Boxing Club.
Club staff say the money raised will help cover travel costs and purchase new gym equipment. They’re hoping to revive amateur boxing in Pueblo, emphasizing the sport’s value in teaching discipline, building confidence, and preparing young people for life beyond the ring.
“What we’re doing is just showing them that there is a way off the street and there’s always positives,” said Ricky Lovato, Owner of Pueblo Aztecs Boxing Club. “If you are feeling down or having a bad day, bring yourself to the Pueblo Aztecs Boxing Gym, we will change your mood, and we will get you going.”
