(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported that on Saturday, June 28, an officer was assaulted by a suspect during an arrest for felony menacing at a business complex on Southgate Road.
According to CSPD, at around 2:45 p.m., officers found the suspect, identified as Cameron Brown, at another business, a few blocks north of the first location, in the 700 block of South Nevada Avenue, near East Rio Grande Street. The officers took him into custody.
CSPD reported that as officers arrived at the police station with the suspect, they attempted to put him in a holding cell when he assaulted an officer. Nearby officers assisted in moving the suspect into the holding area.
The suspect was later booked into the Criminal Justice Center related to the felony menacing and the assault on the officer. The officer remained on duty.
