(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported that detectives were contacted by patrol about a stolen blue 2019 Kawasaki ER650 on Friday, June 27, leading to the arrest of a suspect who had been caught on video surveillance taking the motorcycle.
According to CSPD, detectives with the CSPD Motor Vehicle Theft Unit investigated the theft of the motorcycle and found that 40-year-old Jerrid Dominguez was captured on video surveillance taking the bike without permission.
Investigators spotted Dominguez on the stolen Kawasaki near Querida Drive and Uintah Street, near North Circle Boulevard. After a short foot chase, Dominguez was detained, according to CSPD.
CSPD reported that Dominguez is a two-time convicted motor vehicle theft offender, and that he was arrested for stealing the motorcycle and taken to the Criminal Justice Center for booking.
