(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) reported that around 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, crews responded to Cheyenne Mountain State Park to assist an injured rider in an incident involving a horse.
According to CSFD, Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) also responded to the state park, southwest of Colorado Springs, to assist CSFD crews in gaining access to the patient and updates on her status.
CSFD said it was not clear exactly what happened, but it appeared that the patient had been riding a horse and had received serious injuries after likely being bucked off the horse.
A UCHealth LifeLine helicopter responded and took the patient to the hospital.
