(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Honor Flight of Southern Colorado is set to embark on its 21st mission, flying 58 veterans to Washington, D.C., including one World War II veteran and six Korean War veterans.
Honor Flight‘s mission is to provide veterans with a free, once-in-a-lifetime trip to our nation’s capital to experience the memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice. Honor Flight said the journeys offer a profound opportunity for camaraderie, reflection, and long-overdue recognition for their contributions to the country’s freedom.
On Thursday, Oct. 2, at 9:30 a.m. Honor Flight is hosting a send-off ceremony at Colorado Springs Christian School (CSCS). Supporters are encouraged to come to the event to support the veterans as they embark on their journey.
On Saturday, Oct. 4, Honor Flight will host a welcome back event at around 5:15 p.m. at CSCS. Honor Flight said due to potential flight delays, check out their Facebook page for up-to-date return information.
