(CHAFFEE COUNTY, Colo.) — The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is sharing the results of a multi-agency investigation–the arrest of a 65-year-old suspect for his alleged involvement with illegal drug trafficking in Chaffee County.
According to CCSO, on Monday, Sept. 15, the regional Joint Operations Unit members of CCSO and the Salida Police Department arrested 65-year-old Andrew Jacob Crabtree from Moffat. The arrest concludes a lengthy investigation into his alleged involvement with illegal drug trafficking in Chaffee County. The Saguache County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation also contributed to the investigation leading to the arrest.

CCSO said through the course of their investigation, investigators seized 118 fentanyl pills and 59.13 grams, or a little over 2 ounces, of methamphetamine.
Crabtree was booked into the Chaffee County Jail on $25,000 cash bond for charges of:
- Unlawful Distribution of Fentanyl – a Class 2 Drug Felony
- Unlawful Distribution of Methamphetamine – a Class 2 Drug Felony
“Our local agencies in Chaffee County are committed to curbing illegal drug distribution in our county,” said Sheriff Andy Rohrich. “We will help those that want help struggling with addiction, but we will continue to have zero tolerance for those pushing the garbage to our community that ultimately leads to several other issues, including property crimes, violence, overdose deaths, and mental illness, to name a few.”
