(CAÑON CITY, Colo.) — Hundreds of people gathered in Veterans Park in Cañon City on Saturday night, Sept. 20, for a candlelight vigil honoring conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed in Utah.
The vigil was a somber event where community members shared how Kirk’s life impacted them and expressed their intentions to continue spreading his message.
Charlie Kirk was a prominent conservative activist known for his work in promoting conservative values.
“I was amazed Charlie had strong convictions about his faith and knew how to communicate and defend the gospel in an extremely clear manner in front of thousands of people with passion,” said one speaker at the event. “I realized that at the moment, that he wasn’t merely a political commentator, he was an ambassador for Christ.”
