(FOUNTAIN, Colo.) — The City of Fountain needs your help as it tries to get feedback on how to make its roads safer.
The City held an open house on Thursday, Oct. 23 to hear from the community about areas where frequent crashes take place, or places that feel uncomfortable for bicyclists, pedestrians, or cars.
City leaders say they know about most problem areas in Fountain like Mesa Ridge Parkway, but they want to know where improvement can be made in some of the newer neighborhoods in the region.
“We think, next spring, there will be another round of federal funding that comes available for cities like Fountain to take advantage of,” said Bart Bedsole, Communications Director for the City of Fountain. “But in order to even apply for those grants, you’ve got to have something like this Safety Action Plan on the shelf, complete, that says ‘hey, we’ve done our research, and these are areas that we think could benefit from funding to improve safety.'”
The City plans on hosting more town halls to gather more information. It also has a website where you can submit your feedback at FountainSafetyPlan.com.
