(PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo.) — On Thursday, Oct. 23, the Pueblo Police Department (PPD) and the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) held a special check presentation ceremony with money supporting various organizations.
The event showcased proceeds raised from PPD’s June Golf Tournament, along with a portion of the money raised from PCSO’s Sheriff’s Assistance for Employees (SAFE) September golf tournament.
PPD said the money will support the Pueblo Fallen Peace Officer Memorial Foundation’s efforts to create a physical location where visitors and guests can honor and reflect on the personal sacrifices of these men and women who have died in the line of duty.
“It is our intent to create a memorial to these officers and a quiet place of reflection for their families, friends, and community. To feel some sense of connection to those brave souls,” said Troy Davenport, Pueblo Fallen Peace Officer Memorial Foundation.
Additional funds will support the Pueblo Police Benevolent Association and SAFE.
