DENVER (KDVR) — The lawsuit filed by a Colorado resident against McDonald’s after testing positive for E. coli has been settled, according to Ron Simon & Associates, which represented the man.
This comes after a lawsuit was filed in October 2024 after the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment confirmed that 26 people in Colorado had gotten sick and one person had died from an E. coli outbreak linked to the McDonald’s Quarter Pounder.
Eric Stelly, who was being represented by the law firm, was said to be one of the people impacted by the outbreak.
Four days after eating at McDonald’s, Stelly went to the emergency room and tested positive for E. coli. The Weld County Department of Public Health, which was noted in the initial lawsuit, had called Steely about the positive diagnosis and confirmed he had eaten at McDonald’s recently.
FOX31 asked the law firm about the terms of the settlement, but they said they could not give that information beyond that the lawsuit has been settled.
