(PUEBLO, Colo.) —The City of Pueblo Stormwater Department will begin emergency repair work on Wednesday, July 23, at a high-traffic intersection and is urging travelers to plan alternate routes.
According to the City, the repairs will close a portion of Elizabeth Street and 24th Street on the north side of Pueblo.
To complete phase one of the project, on July 23 Elizabeth Street will be closed between the blocks of 25th Street and 23rd Street traveling southbound. A road closure at Elizabeth and 24th St. traveling eastbound will be in place for a small portion of the road traveling toward Greenwood St.

The City said local resident access will remain open with roadblocks and detour signage posted to assist with traffic flow in the area.
A second week of closures is necessary to complete phase two of the project. The block of 24th St. will be closed between West St. and Elizabeth St. to begin emergency repair work beginning on July 31.
The City said residents in the area should have received a hang tag notice on their doors to ensure proper notice and to explain the detour or alternate routes available for traffic patterns. The estimated timeline for the repair work to be completed is two weeks.
