DENVER (KDVR) — Fans of the Denver Broncos got an early Christmas present from the NFL this year, with news dropping Monday that the team will play the Kansas City Chiefs in a Christmas matchup on the road at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
The game will be that week’s Thursday Night Football matchup and stream on Prime Video with a kickoff time of 6:15 p.m. local time — 7:15 p.m. MT.
The matchup will be the fifth time in franchise history the Broncos will play on Christmas, with the team most recently losing 51-14 against the L.A. Rams in a tough matchup at SoFi Stadium in 2022.
The Broncos — who boast an even 2-2 record in Christmas Day games — have yet to play at home on the holiday.
Broncos split series with Chiefs in 2024
The Broncos split the season series with the Chiefs last year, losing a tight one on the road in week 12 before shutting out Kansas City in a 38-0 spanking in the final week of the season.
The Chiefs notably rested the majority of their starters that game — including quarterback and two-time NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes — but still may be looking for a bit of revenge.
The surprise announcement comes two days before the reveal of the Broncos’ full 2025 schedule on Wednesday.
