(COLORADO SPRINGS) — At a pop-up tent near downtown Colorado Springs, there’s an empty ring waiting for people to file inside and sit down to watch the Do-Portugal Circus.
Once seated, folks in attendance experience a show of excitement, thrills, and laughter. Ardo Portugal is the ringleader and focuses on moving the show along while keeping everyone on the edge of their seats. It’s all in good faith, as he says he is doing what he loves.
“The action I have with the audience, how they respond to me, and how I talk to them while doing my job is something that I’m very grateful for and I hope to be doing for a very long time,” Portugal said.
Among those in the show is Eva Rodriguez, who is a newer addition to the case as she hopped on within the last year. She is one of the aerialists, which is the thing she loves to do as well.
“It’s something I’ve always done, and I’ve done it for the last 16 years, so it’s what I love doing,” Rodriguez said.

The show features many exciting acts, from juggling, high-daring stunts, and the globe of death, where two motorcyclists race around without touching each other. For those in the show, hearing the crowd watch with a gleam in their eyes makes the work all worth it.
“The best part is being able to see the crowd’s reaction and seeing how just excited they are and seeing those memories being created,” Rodriguez said.
The show has taken those involved to countries all around the world.
“We have been in Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras, all over Mexico, and now here in the USA,” Portugal said.

They have been enjoying their time in Colorado Springs and are hoping to entertain as many people as possible before packing up and hitting the road again.
“I love it, the mountains are incredible, it’s such a beautiful place,” Portugal said.
The show will run in Colorado Springs until Sunday, May 25th, when they will pack up the trucks and head up to Greeley for their next set of shows. You can buy tickets to see them on their website.
