(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has entered into a new partnership with Colorado Springs Airport (COS) to support the City’s military community.
According to the TSA, the new agreement will enhance the travel experience for members of the U.S. military community as part of a national campaign. Active-duty service members and their families will have expedited access at TSA PreCheck® lanes at COS.
For military service members and their families, including those near Fort Carson, Peterson Space Force Base, Schriever Space Force Base, and the U.S. Air Force Academy, COS will offer front-of-the-line privileges. Services will also be provided for military members and their families traveling through the state of Colorado. Additionally, on certain days when larger crowds are expected, COS may open a dedicated screening lane for members of the military community.
“We are proud to support our military members as they travel through COS,” said TSA Federal Security Director for Colorado Douglas Cruz. “TSA COS has a strong partnership with our local armed forces community, and expanding TSA PreCheck benefits will directly assist the approximately 40,000 active-duty service members and their families stationed in the Colorado Springs area. TSA is committed to honoring the service and sacrifice of military families by ensuring their travel is convenient and stress-free.”
TSA will also provide benefits for the military community:
- Gold Star families can enroll in TSA PreCheck® at no cost.
- Spouses of active-duty personnel can receive a $25 discount on the TSA PreCheck® enrollment fee.
- TSA PreCheck® remains free for uniformed service members.
