(COLORADO SPRINGS) — If your commute normally includes downtown Colorado Springs, get ready for more construction on Tejon Street.
The City of Colorado Springs announced that southbound traffic on Tejon St. will shift for utilities work involving heavy equipment and street excavation on Monday, Aug. 4, and will continue through Friday, Aug. 8.
The official announcement states, “Motorists and pedestrians can expect the southbound lane of Tejon to shift into the center turn lane for about 200 feet to allow crews working for Colorado Springs Utilities to replace an aging water valve Monday overnight and move a fire hydrant late Tuesday night.”
For more information on the shift, go to coloradoSprings.gov/tejonstreet.
This traffic shift comes as a result of the Tejon Street Revitalization Project, which stretches from Colorado to Pikes Peak Avenue. The main goal of the project is to expand the sidewalks and outdoor dining areas to increase pedestrian safety and accessibility for businesses.
