(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Colorado Springs’ biggest food truck competition returns to Downtown on Sunday, June 1, pitting some of the city’s best mobile restaurateurs against each other in a truly delicious competition.
According to the event’s website, the 719 Battle of the Food Trucks has drawn nearly 3,000 attendees, with this year’s event expected to gather 3,500 to 5,000 people to sample the best of Southern Colorado’s food truck scene. This year’s competition will welcome competitors from Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Woodland Park, and Castle Rock to battle it out for the title of best in the region.
The competition is not just about the food, there will also be a beer garden, games and activities, and live music from The Sofakillers.
General admission for ages 13+ is $40 and includes 10 sample tickets to enjoy from a variety of food trucks as well as three voting tickets. Kids age 6-12 are $15 and include four sample tickets. VIP admission is $65 and includes free parking, a complimentary beer, access to a private VOP area, and a special gift.
Tickets can be purchased through the event’s website.
This event not only celebrates the diverse mobile food industry in Southern Colorado but also gives back to a local non-profit each year. According to organizers, a portion of this year’s ticket sales, vendor fees, and beer sales will directly benefit Angels of America’s Fallen, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the children of fallen military service members, firefighters, and law enforcement officers through positive, healthy activities.
The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Meanwhile block of Downtown Colorado Springs, at the corner of West Cimarron Street and South Sierra Madre Street.
