(PUEBLO, Colo.) — On Friday, Oct. 3, Pueblo School District 60 (D60) and the Pueblo Police Department (PPD) will partner in the staging of an emergency preparedness drill at Columbian Elementary School.
According to D60, the purpose of the drill is to help District leadership, police, and other responding agencies be better prepared in the event of an actual threat or incident affecting the schools.
“Although it is unfortunate that these types of drills are necessary, vigilance and preparedness dictate such training to be essential,” said D60.
The drill begins at 8 a.m. on Friday and is expected to last three hours. Those who live in the area of Columbian Elementary School should be aware of increased police and first responder activity.
