(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Sunday, June 15, volunteers gathered at Quail Lake Park for a community event hosted by ASEZ WAO, an international young adult worker volunteer group.
The event was hosted by ASEZ WAO along with the City of Colorado Springs and the Colorado Springs Parks and Recreation. The goal of the event was to raise environmental awareness and civic responsibility and to reduce plastic waste.
“On a Sunday morning when most people would probably be sleeping or out with their family, we’re here together and we are hopefully inspiring the community to also come out and take care of it, just so that the families that do come out on Sundays, they have a beautiful and clean environment for all the kids and the families to play in,” said Alexis Anahleb, member of ASEZ WAO.
