(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Colorado Springs Utilities (Springs Utilities) said crews will be performing utility infrastructure work on Austin Bluffs Parkway to allow for an electric substation to be built.
The closure will allow crews to relocate underground water, wastewater, electric, and fiber infrastructure between Brenner Place and Meadowland Boulevard east of North Union Boulevard. Westbound Austin Bluffs will be reduced to one lane, and eastbound will have varying lane closures between the Union merge-lane and Goldenrod Drive.

Springs Utilities is encouraging motorists to plan ahead if this is their normal route and to take alternate routes if possible. Crews will be working in the roadway, so drivers are encouraged to exercise caution when driving through the area.
Springs Utilities said that as the electric substation project continues, there will be future traffic impacts to Austin Bluffs Pkwy. Springs Utilities will provide updates as the project progresses.
