(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — The CHSAA football playoffs will kick off on Friday, Nov. 7 and will feature plenty of local teams from Southern Colorado.
Pine Creek has secured a home playoff game at Hatchell Field after finishing the season with a 7-3 record. The Eagles earned one of the top eight seeds in the 5A postseason bracket, granting them a first-round bye.
The Eagles will face the winner of the Mullen vs. Rocky Mountain game after their bye week. Meanwhile, in the 4A division, Palmer Ridge has had an impressive season, going undefeated with a 10-0 record. The Bears are seeded third and are positioned to host home games throughout their postseason run. They await the winner of the Mesa Ridge vs. Loveland game, with a potential quarter-final matchup against Broomfield, the team that ended their season last year.
In the 2A playoffs, The Classical Academy (TCA), the defending champions, is seeded third and will play against Florence on Saturday. Despite winning 21 games in a row, TCA did not secure the top seed.
Buena Vista is the top team in the 1A division, aiming for a state title, while seventh-seeded Colorado Springs Christian will take on Monte Vista on Friday. The 3A bracket has not been released yet as there are still regular-season games scheduled for this week.
