(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Food Truck Tuesdays are back for the summer and ready to bring Colorado Springs new flavors to enjoy.
“I saw the fry bread truck, and I know that’s a Native American food and I’ve never tried it before, so I was really excited and I’m so glad I picked it because it’s delicious,” said Colorado Springs resident Liz Coelho.
Food Truck Tuesdays happen every week form 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in front of the Pioneers Museum. This event provides the community with an opportunity to try new foods while supporting local businesses, as well as giving food trucks a space to get their offerings and their names out there.
“It’s a complete game changer. The ability to have something like this where the city puts it on for us and we’re all together,” said Matthew Spain, the owner of Mateo’s Food Truck. “We can, you know, draw the great crowds that we do…. it’s really, really awesome.”
The event also draws people to the Downtown area, to see and visit places they may not have visited otherwise.
“I was thinking of going to the Pioneers Museum,” Choelho said. “I’ve actually never been in the 17 years I’ve lived here, and I wanted to check it out.”
The event features a dozen different food trucks and will run through Aug. 19.
