(PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo.) — As of 2:40 p.m., PCSO said the fires along I-25 have been extinguished and crews are in the mop-up stages.
In order to keep crews safe while they continue to work on the mop-up efforts, PCSO said the right southbound lane of I-25 is closed near Verde Road. Continue to use caution if you are traveling in the area.

PCSO: Visibility low along I-25 south of Pueblo due to fires
Multiple agencies are responding to a string of brush fires along I-25 south of Pueblo on Thursday, Aug. 14.
According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), deputies and fire services responded around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday to a report of several brush fires along I-25 between mile markers 86-88, near the Verde Road exit.
As of 2 p.m., PCSO said multiple agencies were responding to provide mutual aid in fighting the fires. PCSO added that visibility is low in the area due to smoke, so travelers are urged to use caution when driving in the area and to watch for emergency crews.
