(COLORADO SPRINGS) — One person died in the hospital following a crash that involved high speeds on Constitution Avenue near North Circle Drive, on Saturday, June 21, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).
CSPD reported that around 9 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the intersection of Constitution and Alpine Drive after reports of a crash. Police learned that two vehicles were driving west on Constitution at high speeds when a third vehicle driving east on Constitution began to make a left-hand turn onto Alpine and was hit by one of the cars.
According to CSPD, the driver of the car that had been turning was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and died a short time later.
The Major Crash Team took over the investigation, which is still ongoing. Initial information indicates that both speed and alcohol were involved in the incident.
