(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) hosted “Get Outdoors Day” at Prospect Lake in Colorado Springs on Saturday, June 7, featuring local activities and educational experiences from local businesses to learn about the outdoors.
Guests were able to try their hands at archery, paddleboarding, fly fishing, and more. Demonstrations on raptors, survival skills, and clay shooting taught outdoor skills to encourage activities spent with friends and family.
CPW gave away free fishing poles to the first 800 guests under 17 years old to show up, and Colorado Youth Outdoors gave demonstrations, encouraging quality time between young people and the adults in their lives.
The free event took place on the first full day of sunshine in a week, offering the perfect opportunity to enjoy the sunshine.
