(FOUNTAIN, Colo.) — On Wednesday, Nov. 12, the community is invited to a dedication honoring the memory and service of Officer Julian Becerra, who was fatally injured in the line of duty in February 2023.
Officer Becerra joined the Fountain Police Department in 2018 and served with distinction until his passing in 2023 after falling off an overpass during an attempted arrest.
To honor Officer Becerra, a park in the newly developed Aspen Ranch Community will be officially renamed Julian “JB” Becerra Park.

Along with the unveiling of a permanent memorial stone honoring Officer Becerra’s service, the dedication ceremony will include remarks from Fountain Police Chief Mark Cristiani and Julian’s widow, Katie Becerra.
“Officer Becerra represented the very best of law enforcement – courage, compassion, and a deep commitment to protecting others,” said Cristiani, “This park will serve as a lasting reminder of JB’s sacrifice and the positive impact he made in our community.”
Limited seating and ADA parking will be available for those who need it.
