(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — It’s officially spooky season! If you’re looking for a harrowing haunt near you, look no further. From Cañon City to Colorado Springs, Southern Colorado has plenty of spine-chilling experiences to offer.
Colorado Springs
Fear Complex-2220 E Bijou St., Colorado Springs
Fear Complex isn’t just one haunted house, it’s an entire experience featuring four different haunts and themed areas–The Sanitarium, a chilling asylum filled with deranged patients; Haunted Mines, an underground labyrinth of abandoned mining tunnels; Sinister Manor, a decrepit house overrun by nightmarish creatures; and the 3-D Carnival, a disorienting clown-themed zone enhanced by 3D glasses.
One entry gets you into all four haunts, and tickets can be purchased at the door or online.

HellScream-3021 N Hancock Ave. Suite A, Colorado Springs
HellScream Haunted House has been scaring Colorado Springs for more than 15 years! Similar to its partner attraction, the Fear Complex, HellScream also provides multiple scare opportunities with your ticket–The Abyss, Pandemonium, Insanity Manor, and Voodoo Bayou. Tickets can be purchased on HellScream’s website.
Florence
Terror at the Warehouse-109 West Front Street, Florence

Terror at the Warehouse is a terrifying tour through a historic warehouse in Florence, with proceeds benefitting youth sports. ScareFactor.com describes the haunt as “old-school,” with classic scares from talented actors and creative displays inside the warehouse.
The haunt opens on Saturday, Oct. 11, and operates on Friday and Saturday nights throughout the season. Dates and times can be found on the haunt’s Facebook page.
Cañon City
Aftermath-575 Ash St., Cañon City
Aftermath Haunted House started in 2010 and has been spooking Cañon City ever since. The haunt is put on by volunteers in the Cañon City community, and the land is owned by the Recreation and Park District. Money from ticket sales go directly to supporting the city’s youth.

Tickets to Aftermath cannot be purchased in advance, but visitors can stop by the Recreation District Community Room, 575 Ash St., from 7-10:30 p.m. for tickets.
Dark Side of the Abbey/Disturbance at the Monastery-2951 U.S. Highway 50, Cañon City
Halloween at Holy Cross Abbey will offer two unique experiences and two stories of scares–Dark Side of the Abbey and Disturbance at the Monastery, a sensory deprivation experience in the Abbey’s abandoned basement.
Haunts at the Abbey are open Fridays and Saturdays through Nov. 1, and tickets can be purchased online.
