(FREMONT COUNTY, Colo.) — Fremont County Emergency Management reported that a small wildland fire was reported in the Upper Grape Creek Wilderness area, northwest of Navajo Drive and southwest of Hellgate Way South, on Friday evening, Sept. 19.
According to Emergency Management, the fire, named Democrat Fire due to its location near Democrat Creek, is on land under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), which is on scene with multiple resources. A helicopter from the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control is responding to drop water out of Deweese Reservoir.
People in the area are advised that there will be fire vehicle traffic and air operations in the area.
