(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported that a pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle near Highway 24 and 26th Street on Friday night, Sept. 5.
According to CSPD, around 10:30 p.m., a call came in informing CSPD of a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian near Old Colorado City. When officers arrived at the scene, along with Colorado State Patrol (CSP) and the Colorado Springs Fire Department crews, they found that the pedestrian was dead at the scene and the driver of the vehicle had left the area.
CSPD reported that along with CSP troopers, officers tracked down the vehicle and the driver, identified as Cameron Walsh, and arrested him. Alcohol was allegedly a factor in the incident.
