DENVER (KDVR) — Tens of thousands of Broncos fans will pack into Empower Field at Mile High Sunday for the first game of the season against the Tennessee Titans, and they will have lots of new food and drink options.
There are about 50 new menu items and six new restaurants at the stadium.
One is Atwater Grill on the main concourse. It features a menu selected by former Bronco Steve Atwater himself.
“I truly love burgers,” the Hall of Famer said on Tuesday. The Atwater Grill will offer smashed burgers with unique twists and sides.
Atwater’s favorite item on the menu is the Assassin Burger, which has jalapenos and some kick to it.
“I’m anxious to see how the fans take to it,” he said.
The stadium has five other restaurants opening up, including Birdcall, Hall & Worth, ChoLon Restaurant Concepts, Bagel Deli and Wit Love Cheesesteaks.
“Bagel Deli is one of my favorites, so it’s great to have them coming in,” said Executive Chef Shelby Britton. “Marczyk Fine Foods, we’re doing some of their burgers, some of their sandwiches.”
Fans will find an assortment of new menu items around the stadium, including pulled pork mac and cheese, lobster rolls, poke bowls and, for a limited time only, a jackalope hoagie.
“It is an antelope and rabbit sausage, green chili mac and cheese, it’s got some green onion curls, hot Cheeto dust, then three corn tortillas that represent Maroon Bells,” Britton said.
Surveys showed that fans want variety, rotation and value, so the Mile High Favs Menu will return and offer game-day classics for $5. Those will be available at 18 locations throughout the stadium.
