(PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo.) — Jordan Dazzio has been sentenced to eight years in prison for vehicular homicide after a fatal crash in Pueblo West in December 2023.
Dazzio was originally facing eleven charges related to the crash that killed 64-year-old Arthur Reece, but he was only convicted of vehicular homicide after accepting a plea deal.
“I think he should have been given a lot longer. This man has a history of criminal behavior,” said Charlene Bradley, Reece’s sister.
The crash occurred when Dazzio, driving a truck, collided with Reece, who was on his way to the store to get ice cream. Reece later died from his injuries.
Dazzio, 37, expressed remorse in court, repeatedly saying he was sorry and taking full responsibility for his actions.
Court records indicate that Dazzio has a history of criminal behavior, with five previous felony convictions before the crash. In addition to his prison sentence, Dazzio is required to pay more than $3,000 in restitution.
Bradley expressed her hope that one day she can find forgiveness, lamenting that her brother’s retirement years were taken from him.
