(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) said recently that officers arrested a man with multiple warrants after he eluded officers and hid in a crawl space.
According to PPD, while officers were proactively looking for stolen vehicles, they encountered 23-year-old Charles Garcia. Police said Garcia had multiple warrants for his arrest related to previous charges, including motor vehicle theft, larceny, and driving under the influence with a revoked license.

Garcia was allegedly driving a stolen Hyundai Sonata out of Colorado Springs. PPD officers attempted to stop the vehicle on two different occasions, but Garcia did not yield. PPD said Garcia drove erratically, ran stop signs and red lights, made abrupt U-turns, drove into oncoming traffic lanes, and traveled at speeds over 90 mph.
Eventually, PPD said Garcia abandoned the vehicle in the area of Pine Street and Nevada Avenue and was seen running into a house on the 2300 block of Pine St. Police gained entry into the house and took Garcia into custody after he was found hiding in a crawl space.
Garcia was booked into the Pueblo County Jail on charges of second-degree motor vehicle theft, vehicular eluding, and driving with a revoked license.
