(PUEBLO, Colo.) — Tragedy at Lake Pueblo State Park this weekend, a person died after coming into contact with a boat propeller.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Saturday. July 19, on the water near Denver Cove, located mid-lake near the north shore.
A Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) Ranger patrolling the area raced to escort the boat and the 43-year-old woman to the North Shore Marina, where more first responders were waiting.
Despite life-saving efforts, the woman died about an hour after the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
“CPW offers condolences to the family and friends of the victim and everyone involved in the incident,” said Joe Stadterman, Park Manager.
