(PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo.) — The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) said deputies arrested a 63-year-old man following a traffic stop, after deputies said they saw drug paraphernalia in plain view.
According to PCSO, on Sunday, June 29, a deputy on patrol in the 100 block of North Purcell Boulevard in Pueblo West off Highway 50 saw a vehicle make sudden lane changes without signaling. The deputy pulled over the car and contacted the driver, identified as 63-year-old Kevin Johnson. During the stop, the deputy allegedly saw drug paraphernalia in plain view.
The deputy asked Johnson to get out of the car, and Johnson complied. The deputy had his K9 partner conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle, and the dog reacted near the driver’s side door.
According to PCSO, during a search of the vehicle, the deputy found 70.6 grams of methamphetamine, 17.7 grams of heroin, 9.4 grams of fentanyl, cash, and drug paraphernalia.
Johnson was arrested and is facing three counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, two counts of restraining order violation, and a traffic offense.
