(PIKES PEAK, Colo.) — On Tuesday, May 6, many in Southern Colorado woke up to slushy, wet commutes as rain, snow, and chilly air moved across the region.
Photos taken from the summit of Pikes Peak showed a wintry scene as the storm rolled over America’s Mountain on Tuesday.
“The summit is forecasted to receive an impressive 47-52 inches of snow between [Tuesday and Wednesday, May 7],” read a post on the Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain Facebook page.

On Tuesday, Pikes Peak Highway remained closed to drivers due to the heavy snowfall. For updates on current road conditions and if the highway will open back up on Wednesday, call (719) 385-7325.
